The Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity works to promote sustainable agriculture that respects the environment, the cultural identity of local people and promotes animal well-being. The Foundation organizes and funds projects that defend our world’s heritage of agricultural biodiversity and gastronomic traditions: Ark of Taste, Presidia and Markets of the Earth.
These projects are developed in the all five continents, but the most significant economic contribution occurs in the world's less-developed nations where conserving biodiversity means not only improving the quality of life, but saving lives.
